Wasting So Many Stamps

I’ve gotten two letters this week
It reminds me of junior high
Writing back and forth, just to pass the time
One letter says, “I’m sorry”
The other says, “I wish things could be different”
Both have moments that surface memories
It’s good to remember these times that caused me to loose sleep
Even if all they did was make me weep
I probably should want it to mean more than what it does
But, then I’d have to think about the risk of forsaking this
These letters mean so much more.
Lessons given to me in life, love, and heartache
The void in my soul is filled in salvation
Parts of the old death bring me back to the depths of defamation.
