Where's Boyd?

Even though the guy tried to make me put a new head-gasket on my car when I didn't need one, he sure fixed my car cheap all the other times.

Okay, so update on the Altima. It's not dead! However, it might as well be. It needs a new distributor, which with towing will be like $750 bucks. Kelly Blue Book says my car, at 195,000 miles, is worth $250. It really doesn't seem reasonable to pay that much money, for the little I'm going to get out of it.

I'm looking at getting a new-to-me used car. Any advice?

Hey its Melissa. I have a cousin that owns a dealership (GM and Chrysler) in Quincy, Fl which is close to Tallahassee, Thomas Motor Cars. They sell good cars and can usually help you find what you are looking for and for a good price. The free number is (800)877-9752 tell them I sent you if you decide to check it out.

i think if guys drive cars, (unless it's a sports car), that the car has to be foreign. it's just not sexy for a guy to drive a taurus. but an accord, civic, jetta, definitely.

Melissa, thanks for the info. Tally is probably too far to look for a car. Plus, I'm only spending 6,000 or so.

Christie, I agree. I will never drive a Taurus or a Camry. I'm looking at a Nissan Sentra or maybe a VW Jetta. Perhaps a pickup.

in my opinion, CarMax ROCKS...you should try them.

Your welcome Jeff, I know its a little far, but you could always come visit me :) You know they do sell used cars and I've seen some at your price range before, just so you know. I have to disagree on the foreign car thing. I prefer GM and it all depends on the person not really if its a , guy or not. Just my opinion, I'd go for a guy driving a muscle car over a nissan or honda civic any day.

haha! jeff - you posted one of your comments at 4:20! ;-)

anyway, i thought i'd throw in my opinion (not that it matters much)...

i don't really think a guy should drive a civic or a jetta. i don't know. they just seem more like cars a girl should drive. definitely don't go for a vw golf. lol!

then, again...it doesn't matter what you drive, as long as it's a running vehicle and you're happy with it, or at least, satisfied with it!

have a great week and blessings on finding the right car at the right price! :)

Jeff,
We just went through a similar situation- Matt's race car died and we decided to get something practical...we just bought a used 2001 Hyundai Accent for about 7500. I highly recommend the Hyundai's- they're cheap, reliable, and if you're lucky, it might still have some of the factory warranty left on it- which is awesome! My parents love theirs and I loved my Elantra! Good luck with the search!
